Picturesque Palawan

Nothing could have prepared me for the sights that greet you when you arrive in Palawan. Its like a lost island, something only found in the movies. Crystal clear waters and volcanic rock formations, surroundings which seem unreal until you touch them.
(note: volcanic rock is jaggy, it can hurt you)
In the short time we were there we managed to hire a motorcycle and tour half the island, visit the Hot Springs...no false advertising, natural hot springs - amazing, island hop for a day and still managed to fit in a game of pool (which I am the champion). Coron Town Proper (its no fake) is very small with many homes and businesses taking the shape of little wooden shacks. Armed with both my CMYK and mini diana I tried to capture the spirit of a few days in paradise...

Under the sea...

Snorkel head...

Snorkeling is not something I thought one could be bad at but it turns out that you do need some sort of talent for breathing to allow you to survive under the water. I blame my Yoga, they tell you breath in through the nose and out through the nose...snorkeling requires breathing in the through the mouth and holding it til you feel like you might die then surface and breathe out through the mouth. It took me almost all day to master this...not only was my breathing a problem but I seemed to have great ability to steam up my mask...Snorkeling 1, VM 0.
All that being said the land of Nemo was indeed pretty amazing and with my budget HK$40 underwater camera I was able to snap a few pics...

Location: Coron, Palawan, Philippines

Humanfish

Angel fish

These electric blue guys were among my faves...sadly the camera broke before I could take a pic of the stripey 'zebra' fish
