Bazaar...

On Sunday I took part in the Discovery Bay Backyard Bazaar. It was the first time I had ever done such an event with my vintage wares and I am happy to report that it was a success!

The sun was shining which brought out the crowds, and steered them into my stall. I am really happy with how it turned out as I wasn't sure how the people of Hong Kong would react to vintage clothing. I had an interesting mix of customers from expat mums and young girls to middle aged local ladies.
A few friends came over to see the stall which was really nice and I am touched by their support. I am also very thankful to PB for getting up so early on a Sunday to help me.

How I spent my morning.

One of the best things about being in Hong Kong as a designer is the endless (or what appears to be) supplies of buttons, fabrics and all things shiny.
I had to make a trip to ShamShuiPo, the district devoted to trims and fabrics to pick up supplies I needed. What I love most though is not the newest button but the old signage, the crowds bustling around junk stalls and my new favourite the pawn shops.
The locals draw me quizzical looks as they don't quite see why I am so fascinated in something so old and tarnished.
I can't help it, I'm a sucker for history. How about you?

Fabric Markets are Awesome!

Took a trip to the fabric market (more like a fabric district it's so huge) over the weekend. The best place to get inspired for getting crafty and doing some DIY.
